If you know nothing about the Thundercats then this blog isn't going to mean much to you. If you didn't know (upon first sighting) that the above image at least pertains to the Thundercats, then we've got a serious problem.
If you know Thundercats, then you know retro. And if you know retro, then we should date sometime.
A fella named Jerry O'Flaherty has been announced as the director for the upcoming Warner Bros. Thundercats feature, based on the popular 80's cartoon and toy line. And yes, it will be totally CG (perhaps because the character make up may cost a bomb).
This will be O'Flaherty first time directing. He was previously an art director for such bestselling games, such as 'Gears of War' and 'Unreal Tournament 3' for Epic Games and the 'Command and Conquer' series (which I love) from Westwood Studios.
O'Flaherty will be working with with screenwriter Paul Sopocy on the script - a little known writer, perhaps best known for 'Staring At The Sun'.
The production team for the show consists of Paula Weinstein, Dick Robertson and Lew Korman - who are all listed under Spring Creek Productions.
Rumors of the plot are that it will be more focused on Lion-O's coming of age as the leader of the Thundercats, very much so like the first few debut shows of the cartoon. But, like I said, if you don't dig the Thundercats, I can't help you.
