Voltron Is In The Works

[Voltron: bigger than those guys at Harun's Gym]

If you were ever a fan of cartoons, then you know of Voltron, about five Galaxy Alliance pilots who ride robotic lions that can combine to form the bad-mamma-jamma, sword-wielding Voltron giant. Anyone who knows what I'm talking about knew that each lion was a different color as well. Awesome show.

Voltron was at its height in the 1980s, with a big Japanese animated TV series, and comic books and a toy line.

Variety magazine has stated that New Regency (a production company under 20th Century Fox) has partnered with the Mark Gordon Company to adapt Voltron: Defender of the Universe into a possible big screen thing.

In fact, Mark Gordon has already begun developing the film with Justin Marks (who is writing the script). This is following in the boom on robot movies, especially after Transformers almost blew away the Box Office like how Bruneians blow away money.

Marks describes this upcoming script as a post-apocalyptic tale of survival in New York City and Mexico.

But Voltron is not the only script Justin Marks is working on. As mention is earlier posts, he is also adapting He-Man and the Masters of the Universe for Joel Silver (for Warner Bros.), as well as a Green Arrow show (also Warner Bros.). On top of that Marks is also working on Street Fighter (for Fox) - that's right, Street Fighter, again.

So start saving money now kids, cos these movies are coming out faster and faster.
